Chapter Seventy-One

Michael and Stuart's car pulled into the gas station. The lights to the pumps were on, but the convenience shack's bulbs were off. They parked the car and waited.

A minute later, three vans sped down the off-ramp and into the lot. The cars formed a half-circle around the truck. A compact car pulled into the lot a minute later and pulled in between the vans. Christine stepped out, turned, and signaled to the other drivers. The van doors slid open, and two agents jumped of each with their weapons unholstered.

"A little dramatic, right?" Stuart huffed before pushing the door open. "Do they think I'm James Bond?"

Stuart showed both his hands and hopped out of the truck. Michael followed his lead. Mr. Weatherly's body slid out of the car and plopped to the ground causing the agents to jump.

"Don't worry, he's dead," Stuart assured them.

Two agents slowly approached Michael and Stuart, patted them down and told them to stand.

"You thought you could run?" One of the agents mocked.

Stuart looked at Michael and gave him a nod.

"Gary's at the house," Michael said casually as the agents walked them towards the van.

"What was that?"

"Gary's at the house," Michael repeated.

The agent turned and yelled at Christine, "Gary's at the house!"
